Well, I have added it mostly for development needs myself, so that I can quickly change PKGBUILD to use my forked repo branch and test new stuff as close to real install as possible. Just hangs out there for similar needs.
A bit offtopic: vibe master is fine but I remember weird problems when trying both vibe master and dmd/phobos master at the same time, so it is probably worth testing when Walter will send new beta to mail-list.
