I really REALLY dislike code.dlang.org's user verification.

I have had nothing but issues with it....

I don't remember my 'username' (I don't remember using anything other than my email) and it won't let me reset anything other than my password.

I've got a new library for dub if I could only log it...

NVM, I kept guessing and it eventually let me in.

I'm good now. Pretend this didn't happen.

I've fixed the "forgot username/password" mail to contain the user name
now. The login could be changed to use only the e-mail address, but I
thought it may come in handy to have a pseudonym that can be used to
refer to a certain user.

Ah sweet.

Thanks!

[OT] Dub's popularity

As a side note, dub seems to really be taking off.

There are new packages all the time now. Things are getting exciting!!

Indeed! I just wish I had more time to improve the website. Especially
categories get really important now. But hopefully that will fit into
next week's workload.

I wish all sites just did away with Username for login and used email or oauth. Users should just be able to set a display name for use on the actual site.

Actually there is a display name already, so the user name could just be
disabled. The main argument for a user name is to use it for technical
identification (e.g. username@code.dlang.org or
code.dlang.org/users/username) where a full email address or a display
name with special characters or white space wouldn't work so well.

Of course, at the very least, there is no reason why it shouldn't be
possible to log in using the email address instead of the user name
(it's unique, too). I'll add that as a first step.

Well, You'll need to relax your username requirements if you do that...

My email is 0b1100110@gmail.com.
0b1100110 is rejected on the basis of: "Usernames cannot begin with a number."

I mean logging in by identifying with the email address that is already
registered. The user name would stay as it is, but wouldn't be strictly
required anymore to log in.
