Name semantics

  • Is it DUB, Dub, or dub?

  • If it's DUB, is it an acronym?

  • If it's an acronym, what does it stand for?

Apologies if I'm missing some information, but I'm curious.
I'm fairly sure it is 'DUB' but cannot find out any other information.

Regards,
Kelet

Re: Name semantics

Same question goes for DDOX as well, I suppose.

"DUB" comes from the word "dub", so it's not an acronym. However, since
it is used as a proper noun, it needs to start with a capital letter,
but "Dub" looks kind of awkward due to its shortness, so I'm favoring
"DUB" instead. The logo on the other hand uses the lower case version
due to it's optical symmetry. Regarding an acronym, I guess one could
find something so that using all caps is better justified ;) (D User
Bundler?)

"DDOX" comes from a merge of "Ddoc"/"D documentation" and "eXtended", so
it's kind of in the same boat. "Ddox" looks wierd, "DDox" or "DDoX"
might work too, but "DDOX" is simple and uniform, so I went with that.
It's probably also short enough to find a good acronym (D Documentation
O... eXtended).

So, are can we settle on "DUB" when referring to DUB then?

Yes, let's fix it like that.
